Disability occurs through wars, accidents, diseases and as a result of a genetic disposition.

Work of decent quality is the most effective means of escaping the vicious circle of marginalisation, poverty and social exclusion. People with disabilities are often trapped in this vicious circle and positive action is needed to assist them in breaking out of it.

Barriers which people with disabilities face in getting jobs and taking their place in society can and should be overcome through a combination of policy measures, regulations, programmes and services.

There are some evolutionary changes happening in relation to disability in South Africa and globally. Existing structures and support measures for people with disabilities are, correctly, being challenged.

In South Africa, whilst we have made great progress in redressing past inequalities regarding race and gender, we are currently lagging regarding the effective integration of individuals with disabilities into all aspects of society.

In order to address this, legislation has increasingly focused on the inclusion of individuals with disabilities into the world of work.

We help organisation’s meet legislative requirements and create best practice work environments that include people with disabilities.  Clients can implement our full framework of disability solutions or they can start with one or two services and implement the rest at a more gradual pace.

Of particular significance is the fact that 5% of all revenue earned for disability services will accrue to a disability fund. This fund will have as its objective, the improvement of the lives of people with disabilities. There is therefore a direct benefit, for people with disabilities, in the utilisation of our services. In addition, clients are encouraged to engage in their own CSI initiatives in the disability space, and we assist them in identifying opportunities.
